MY VISION FOR OUR DISTRICT

Economic Development

  • Work to expand growth opportunities by expanding our commercial tax base with businesses that make our community more viable and attractive.

  • Ensure only necessary County taxes and fees are levied while investigating new and sustainable sources of revenue to strengthen the economic base and provide the services desired by County residents.

  • Support the business community by staying engaged and bridging the gap between business and government.

  • Work to ensure our infrastructure is commensurate with our current and future needs.

  • Work to address the challenges businesses face, especially with the permitting process.

Education and Workforce Development

  • Support our PGCPS CEO and the Board of Education on plans regarding ongoing effects of the pandemic on student’s mental health, vaccine access and education and disparities in academic achievement.

  • Work to provide quality job training for middle and high school students

  • Support our local colleges and universities, Prince George’s Community College, Bowie State University, and the University of Maryland.

Safe and Healthy Communities

  • Support all measures to keep our community healthy and safe.

  • Work to strengthen the critical linkage between the police and our community.

  • Work with our faith-based community and nonprofits to help families learn how to build generational wealth through investing, owning a business, purchasing property and higher education.

  • Support additional funding to support our seniors, veterans, and vulnerable populations by continuing to invest in access to healthy food, healthcare needs, housing assistance, employment opportunities and resources for caregivers.

Environmental Sustainability

  • Reduce the County's carbon footprint and support the State's goal to reach zero emissions by 2045.

  • Support and take the lead on some of the efforts outlined in the County’s sustainability action plan that will bring positive environmental impact, reduced energy consumption, job creation and economic development.
